I think as parents we are misleading ourselves by thinking:
"My children are safe, they are at home and not out wandering the streets"
Are our children really safer because they are physically in our homes?

Not if they are using the Internet.

Predators of children use to have to follow children to find out where they lived and where they went, they had to get around their friends and earn their trust enough to be able to get them into the situation they desired.

You can find websites or information on any topic imaginable and all you have to do is click a box agreeing you are 18yrs old, whether you are or not really doesn't matter to view the site's content.

It is absolutely scary at what you can find if you do a search and type in the words kill, torture, suicide, murder, etc. They also have sites that actually tell you how to do things step by step. I think it is crazy at what is actually readily available to our children online.

It used to be that if your child was watching a program on TV that was inappropriate for them or "too violent" we changed the channel or shut it off. Our children have access to way worse then anything our parents would not let us view.
